[Windows Mobile] Internet Explorer Mobile

Pocket PC 에 주로 깔리는 운영체제가 Windows Mobile 내지는 Windows CE 인데. 차이는 아직 관심밖이라 모르겠다. 갑작스럽게 포스팅을 하는 이유는 웬일로 PDA 쪽 프로그래밍을 할일이 생겨 버려서 이다. 말투만 봐도 알겠지만 하기싫다. 쳇... 암튼 양쪽 운영체제 모두 Internet Explorer 가 돌아가는데 예전에는 안그랬는데 요즘은 XMLHttpRequest 객체가 지원이 된단다. 참 좋은 세상이라는 느낌이 팍! 온다. 왠만큼 Javascript 도 지원되고 DOM 도 CSS 도 지원되니 예전에 비하면 정말 천국이 아닌가 싶다. 하기사 실상은 Javascript 의 탈을 쓴 JScript 더라~ CSS 도 쓸라고 하는건 지원이 안되더라 등등... 불만도 많지만. 개발자가 불만 불평만 해서야 쓰것는가. MSDN 에서 정보를 쬐금 퍼다가 날러 본다.



Standards Support Overview
Here is a high level summary of which levels of various standards are supported by IE Mobile:

  • HTML: 4.01
  • XHTML: Basic, 1.01 (with some exceptions)
  • WAP: 1.2.1, 2.0
  • CSS: Level 1, Level 2 (partial), Mobile Profile 1.0, Wireless (WAP) CSS 1.1
  • Scripting/DOM: JScript 5.6, DOM Level 0, DOM Level  1 (partial), DOM Level 2 (partial)

Although AJAX is not a standard, we are often also asked if we “support AJAX” in this context.  As mentioned in earlier blogposts, IE Mobile does support the XMLHTTP object used to exchange datawith the server asynchronously, as well as the DOM/CSS support listedabove to update your page dynamically with the new data.

아래의 링크에서 여기 저기 들어가 보면 흥미로운 글들이 꽤 있다. 모바일용 IE 에서 VBScript 를 지원하지 않는 이유가 메모리 풋프린트가 400KB 나 증가하기 때문이라는  글도 있는데. 잘했다~ 라고 해주고 싶구만. ㅋㅋ
